This work was configured and choreographed in response to the unique architecture of the National Gallery’s Millennium Wing. Performed in a selection of Gallery spaces In formulating the various configurations of the performance the choreography drew on the work of Mainie Jellett as a source of inspiration. Jellet was a pioneer of Irish abstract painting and is recognized as one of the country’s leading modernists with works held in the National Gallery’s permanent collection.
'Moving Thresholds' engaged with the legacy of Jellett’s achievement by referencing her revolutionary approach to abstract painting and her theory of ‘translation and rotation’.
A selection of original drawings by Mainie Jellett and Rhona Byrne were  on display in the CSIA for Culture Night. Curated by Donal Maguire, 

'Moving Thresholds' is presented by the ESB Centre for the Study of Irish Art in the National Gallery of Ireland.
